What’s a retreat?
Our Women’s Retreats are focused on God’s Word, fellowship and rest.
Why retreat so far?
Getting away from our daily work and responsibilities gives us the opportunity to put aside distractions, quiet our bodies and hearts, and be open to the voice of God, through his word and through the body of Christ.
We will take time to relax, reset and refocus on Oak Forest’s beautiful 80 acres of woodland trails. Besides regular teaching sessions, we will have testimonies, small group discussions, and free time. Free time could include games, crafts, a campfire, snacks, conversation, and personal time with God.
What’s the topic?
Pastor and author Eugene Peterson said the Christian life is “the lifelong practice of attending to the details of congruence” — congruence between what is true and how we live.
Often a low-grade unbelief runs through our ordinary days, showing up in our anxiety, apathy, impatience, and other common sins, causing us to ask ourselves whether we really believe what we profess. We long for our lives to be different, but we don’t know how to change. Like the desperate father in Mark 9, we cry,
“I believe! Help my unbelief!”
Join us for the 2024 summer retreat as we wrestle with our unbelief and look to God for increased faith in the details of our daily lives.

The Oak Forest Retreat & Conference Center is about a 1.5 hours (80 miles) drive from Cities Church.
The address is 2824 130th St, Frederic, WI 54837.
We will not be arranging transportation but we have created this carpooling sign up sheet for your convenience in finding a group of women to carpool with. If you are willing to drive and have extra seats, please let other women know by using this resource.

This retreat is primarily for the women of Cities Church.

Oak Forest Retreat’s hotel-style rooms have beds for up to 4 women, a private bathroom, private shower, and a small seating area.

$90, cost includes lodging, 2 meals (dinner and brunch) and light snacks.

We will have two meals (dinner and brunch) in the Oak Forest dining area. We will have snacks available as well. They are able to make accommodations for gluten free and dairy free dietary restrictions. Please indicate your needs on your online registration form.
