Upcoming Concert — September 20
On Sunday, September 20, Cities Church is throwing our first ever concert.
Join us at the Copper Hen for the folk-pop duo, The Gray Havens.
The doors open at 6:00pm — so come early to grab a seat and a bite to eat. The Copper Hen has agreed to keep their full food and beverage menu available for us. The concert begins at 7:30pm and will last about an hour. The cost to attend this event is free (except for what you eat and drink).
The hope for this concert is to create a fun, third-space atmosphere for us to bring family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. The Gray Havens are extremely talented, and their love for Jesus comes out in their music, without shoving it in your face. They plan to talk about their music, and what has influenced their lyric writing, for an audience of Christians and non-Christians. My hope is that you will use this to invite an old college friend, or plan a double date with your spouse and the couple from next door, or bring a co-worker that you've been trying to connect with outside of work. No need to register or sign up. Just show up Sunday night, September 20. I can’t wait to see you there.
The Gray Havens are a husband-wife duo out of Crystal Lake, IL. Dave and Licia Radford released their first EP, Where Eyes Don't Go, in 2013, followed by their first full-length album, Fire and Stone, in early 2015. Their unique artistry draws from such influences as C.S. Lewis, JRR Tolkien, and Jonathan Edwards. If you were ever an American Idol fan, you may remember Dave from Season 5 when he made a run to the top 20.
