Welcome, Andrea!
Dear Church,
With thanks to God, I’m excited to announce that Andrea Hoglund has accepted the staff position of Women’s Discipleship Coordinator. This position, previously filled by Erica Foster, seeks to organize, support, and extend the Life Group discipleship structure of our church. Andrea will teach a course for women this fall as part of The Cities Institute, and will be available to connect with women for discipleship, care, and training. Additionally, Andrea will assist the pastors in developing and implementing our vision for deaconesses of care.
Andrea and her husband, Jon, and their family, recently moved back to the states from Vietnam, where they served with Training Leaders International since 2015. Jon accepted a faculty position at Bethlehem College and Seminary as the Associate Professor of Theology and Global Studies, and the Hoglund family has plugged in at Cities Church.
Previously serving in Ukraine (2005–2011), Andrea has done language studies in Russian, Vietnamese, and Spanish, and she has taught at Kremenchug Bible College (Kyiv), Grace Church of Dupage (Warrenville, IL), and most recently, Hanoi International Church (Vietnam).
Andrea grew up just outside the Twin Cities, and received a BA in Biblical Languages from The Master’s University in California, and a MA in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College Graduate School. Andrea is the mother of four children, Joy, Isaiah, Ingrid, and Agnes, whom she has taught in the past as a homeschool mom in Classical Conversations.
Andrea will be a great addition to our staff, and I’m excited about the new discipleship initiatives on the horizon. You can contact Andrea at andrea@citieschurch.com. Welcome her to our staff!
With joy,
Pastor Jonathan
