A New Resource Just for You
Back at summer’s start, we preached a four-part series called “The Heart of the Gospel.” The idea for the series started with the question: “What are the clearest verses in the Bible about the gospel that we haven’t preached yet?”
Within minutes four verses emerged: John 3:16, Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21, and Romans 8:32.
These verses, like many others, are pulsing with gospel life, and although they’re familiar to many Christians, the pastors believed it’s important and timely that our church sit beneath their wonder together.
We were (and remain) convinced that if God would bless our church in mighty ways, part of that blessing — and a means to more blessing — is for us to “glory in the cross and make our boast in the blood of Jesus.” Personal renewal (that leads to relational renewal that leads to church renewal that leads to city renewal) won’t come apart from our being freshly amazed by the greatness of the gospel. And how can we be amazed by something unless we give our attention to it?
So we did the four-part sermon series, but it doesn’t end there. We doubled-down even more on the series and turned it into a small booklet, just for you. The hope is that this booklet is a resource that you can take in your hands, to carry with you and read, to be reminded of Jesus and what he’s done for us.
This booklet will be available this Sunday, at the tables by both entrances. I hope you’ll take a copy, be encouraged, and continue to pray for God’s power in our church.
